Today is the final day of my four-day birthday weekend. I made a point of doing as little as possible – helped in no small part by my Comcast Internet connection barely working for more than five seconds.

Friday, my friends threw me a birthday party at their place (chosen as it is large and tricked out with a swing and video games on a projector and stuff). My drink of the night was the chocolatini, which made me chatty and huggy. There was also a dark rum called Kraken on hand for shots. I had a pretty awesome time – getting lots of hugs, getting a birthday cake featuring a quote from The Best Movie Ever, and even snagging the book and fitness DVD from The Situation.

I had boarded Eva, which let me sleep in for a long time on Saturday. After picking her up, we had a chill night. I was playing a lot of Fallout: New Vegas. This continued through Sunday, too, culminating in me ordering a tasty spinach and garlic pizza as a pre-birthday treat to myself.

Yesterday – Monday – was my actual birthday. Yet again, I was utterly spoiled by my friends and family. Thanks to the generosity of everyone, I have eight new CDs on the way:

  • Tao Of The Dead by …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
  • Hardcore Will Never Die But You Will by Mogwai
  • The People’s Key by Bright Eyes
  • Let England Shake by PJ Harvey
  • Zonoscope by Cut Copy
  • James Blake by James Blake
  • Thunder, Lightning, Strike by The Go! Team
  • Hail To The Thief by Radiohead (I only own the map version, I am being a completist loser)

After shopping, playing lots more Fallout: New Vegas and bumming around, I went out for Mexican. Artist’s rendition:

¡Aye Carumba!

Today, I am tidying the house up and doing chores before sitting down to the Godfather trilogy for the first time in my life. Apparently I am a bad person for having never watched them. Oopsies!
